Frank Lloyd Wright- Irving Table-Couch

Irving Table-Couch

Through my eyes this is one of the most inspiring pieces of furniture by Frank Lloyd Wright. It impresses me not only because of the time it was designed (1909), but because of its clean lines, versatile use and modern design. This piece was designed for the house of Edward and Florence Irving in Decatur, Illinois.

Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the most revered architects, interior designers and furniture designers as well. Some people might not agree with me on that statement. I am so inspired by his work.

As a person he was disloyal and obscure near the end of his life. I am inclined to not really care about his personal life. As a designer his work is very well thought out, non-typical, and has a very horizontal influence. I consider myself to be a modern designer. I do not like clutter, or unnecessary objects in a room. I share this trait with Frank Lloyd Wright. I really want to get plans for this furniture piece and make one for myself. I can imagine reading a book, eating dinner or studying for school with this piece.
